Preface from The Course Syllabus

We need to respond to the increasing heterogeneity of our students. How?  Make a habit of inquiry - "How do I know my students are learning?  or "What's best for student learning?" (xii). The thoughtfully prepared syllabus will go a long way towards minimizing misunderstandings and providing answers to questions that normally plague the first class session.

The book promises to demonstrate the integration of technologies, such as Content Management Systems "to enhance to form, functions, and use of the syllabus" (p. xv).  It also provides examples of different types and formats of syllabi (wow, sharing!) and includes a list of suggested readings on related topics.

I'm ready to dig in!

Moving forward!
